The call for Swiss ALPS (Advanced Large Projects in Supercomputing) has opened on June 19th. Let us briefly remind that the ALPS initiative aims to enable scientific breakthroughs by way of very large computational research projects. Projects are accepted for a period of 2 years starting as latest 1st January 2007. Proposals may come from researchers or consortia of research groups from institutions based in Switzerland or international collaborations involving such researchers.
