3 Nov to 7 Nov 2008 WASP plans to upgrade marron OS from version 2.0 to 2.1. Luster will also be rebuilt to provide better support and speedup. This is a major upgrade and will require users to recompile their codes so that it can be execute on the CLE compute nodes 18 July to 21 July 2008 please be reminded that there will be a IVEC network downtime from 5pm 18 July till 21 July morning. Marron will remind live during this period. please queue your jobs before 5pm today. After 5pm you will not be able to log into marron via the IVEC network (marron.ivec.org). 31 May to 6 June 2008 WASP plans to upgrade marron from catamount to Compute Node Linux
(CNL) also know Cray Linux Environment (CLE). This is a major upgrade and will require users to recompile their codes so that it can be execute on the CLE compute nodes. There will be new commands to launch and monitor batch jobs. We will publish some example scripts/commands on the first week on June on the WASP website. This upgrade will widen our linux application scope thus allowing new applications to be compiled and execute on marron. 12 Oct 2007 WASP plans to shutdown Marron on the 12 Oct from 8am to 11am for the following reasons:
1) Critical security patch
2) Disk swap 2 Oct 2007 Marron will be shutdown on the 2 Oct 2007 from 0800 to 1100hrs. A faulty compute blade will be swap out during the downtime. 23 August 2007 WASP power outage from 23 August 2007, 0830 to 1030hrs. All jobs submitted will be deleted from the queue. The scheduled maintenace is to carry out a full power cycle on the XT3 to verify status of the affected compute blade. If it remains unresponsive then it will be swap with a replacement blade.

WASP power outage from 20 July 4pm to 23 July noon. All jobs submitted will be deleted from the queue. Please ensure all work is backup before the scheduled outage. 9 June 2007 There will be a IVEC network outage tomorrow morning 9 June 2007 from 7am to 9am WST. Only users on the IVEC network will be able to login. All external access will be rejected. This will also affect all users on the IVEC network. All external network access during this period will also be affected. 28 June to 7 July 2007 Marron will be off line from the 0900hrs 28 June to 1200hrs 7 July 2007 for maintenance and system upgrades. All queued & running job will be deleted during this period. Users are strongly encouraged to carry out backups of their own home and lustre file areas. Please note that WASP is not responsible for any data corruptions or lost during the upgrade process. 18 April 2007 Marron queue maintenance on 18 April 2007 from 9am to noon. All jobs in the queue will be deleted. 29 March 2007 WASP network maintenance on 29 March 2007 from 5pm to 8pm. All network connection to marron will be affected. |
