Frequently Asked Questions

1) How much will it cost?

The WASP Access Grid Facility is a service offered and supported by the WASP. For sessions under 2 hours, this service is available at no cost to non-profit organisations and WASP Partners. Bookings over 2 hours and to commercial companies, a cost will be assess dependent upon the needs of the booking.

2) How do I prepare for a session?

Email any possible share presentations slides to the WASP Access Grid Facility operator 3 days before the session. Arrive at least 15 minutes earlier for fimilarisation.

3) Can I video conference from the Access Grid?

The Access Grid has similar capabilities as common video conferencing equipments. It is used for large scale distributed meetings, Lectures, Tutorials, Seminars, Worshops, etc. All connecting Access Grid virtual venue facilities must have the Access Grid software installed. Please refer to the next question for a list of Access Grid Venue.

4) Where can I get a list of what Access Grid Facilities there are in the world?

Refer to http://www.accessgrid.org/nodes for node listing.

5) I require catering at WASP, what do i need to do?

WASP is only an Access Grid Facility and does not deal with catering. If catering is required for any of your sessions, please directly contact The University of Western Australia, Guild Catering at +61 (08) 6488 2315; Fax +61 (08) 6488 1115; Email: catering@guild.uwa.edu.au. You will be required to quote Room G11 of WASP in the Physics Building.

6) What is the maximum capacity?

The maximum seating capacity of the WASP facility is 18. However, more can fitted into the room but not all will be in the camera view.

8) Where is it located?

WASP Access Grid facility is located in The University of Western Australia, Crawley Campus, Western Australian Supercomputer Program, Physic Building in Room G11. As this is a secured area, you will need to ring the bell on our glass door for entry.
